Events are plentiful with winter sun in June celebrating rock ‘n’ roll and A La Carte on the Beach is a food feast in September. There are also many other live bands, huge functions and the Indy Car Racing that is held in Surfers Paradise every year in October. There is always something happening in some part of the Gold Coast or Coolangatta. Coolangatta retains its historic links with its twin city on the NSW side of the border, Tweed Heads. Indeed, Coolangatta offers the best of all tourist worlds - superb surf, the lure of the Gold Coast, and the tranquillity of the Tweed Valley and rainforest hinterland.
